“We have very high expectations of our teachers. I can understand why female teachers want to be part of the kindergarten movement. We believe that the best way for children to learn and develop is when they are encouraged and expanded by teachers who are responsive and share with the child an understanding of the world. This is why we employ childminders who are qualified and registered by the ECE; and whose pedagogical practice reflects current theories of learning and development. Our quality early learning programmes are based on Te Whāriki (New Zealand`s national early childhood programme). If you are employed in a “free” kindergarten, check below that you are paid at the right price. Teachers who work on a permanent basis in nursery schools have a recognised teacher qualification and full or provisional certification of teacher registration or confirmation approved by the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand. . .
